This year’s senior class has sixteen athletes that will be moving on to play in college. Collectively, Flint Hill has two basketball players, two volleyball players, one tennis player, one track runner, one swimmer, one softball player, two soccer players, three football players, and three baseball players committed to play at the collegiate level. During the ceremony, all of the Varsity coaches spoke kindly of the athletes, including one coach from outside of Flint Hill.

The seniors honored at the ceremony included Nick Wright, David Akinyemi, Jordyn Park, Kate Lyon, Devan Geib, Ainsley Jacobs, Elli Hausamann, Hannah Nightingale, Carolyn Holran, Ethan Lloyd, Walker Venable, Matt Stottlemeyer, Gage Herdman, Tom Burr, Kent Morrison, and Teddy Reddington. One other student, Arnav Boppudi, signed a letter of intent in the fall to play tennis at The Citadel, so he did not participate in the signing ceremony.

It has been a dream for each athlete to play at superb facilities, play for bigger crowds, and play for bigger stakes. All coaches made remarks on how moving to a higher level of play will mean the athletes will have to increase their intensity.

Devan Geib is excited to continue playing tennis at Swarthmore University starting in August. Devan continues to make crucial contributions to the Flint Hill Boys’ Tennis Team, leading them to a stronger season.

“I am genuinely excited to continue my game throughout my college career,” said Geib. “I have spent countless hours over the course of eleven years [honing my craft].”

Matt Stottlemeyer continues to work out in the off season to ensure that he will be successful at William & Mary.

“It has been a dream for me to play Division I football. I am happy that I have fulfilled that dream. I look forward to being in a new program and getting better from the very start,” Stottlemeyer said.

Congratulations to all those who have committed. Flint Hill wishes you all the best of luck as you pursue your athletic careers.
