Many new clubs exploring countless different student interests popped up this year. One example of a new club is the Walk and Talk club. This club, created by two sophomores, is a club where people walk together and talk together. The walk and talk club is available for anyone who wants to walk and talk about anything. Another new club is the Salsa club. While many have already heard about it due to the announcement in Town Meeting, the class focuses on delicious salsa and the exhilarating dance salsa.

Up until this year, Flint Hill has been lacking a debate team. Cameron Sabet (FHS 2020) changed that trend this year. The team “[e]ncourages students to communicate confidently and logically and assert themselves formally through the art of debate and rhetoric.” While this may seem daunting, Cameron remarked that “the exercise of one’s freedom of speech should not be taken for granted, but should rather be utilized toward the cause of self-expression through the organization of words to take shape in the form of a constructive and logical statement. Freedom of speech is so precious that although Voltaire would ‘disapprove of what you say,’ even he would ‘defend to the death your right to say it.’”

These clubs are three of the many new clubs that are available for students to join and explore the interest of fellow students.
