The Homecoming dance has come and gone, but the excitement and the fashion are still being talked about. From elegant classics to trendy colors and silhouettes, this year’s dresses showed off the creativity and individuality of Flint Hill students. Several classmates shared the stories behind their Homecoming looks, reflecting their personality and planning.

Anna Kate Johnson ‘28 chose her dress from Windsor, one of the most popular stores for school dances and formals. She bought her dress all the way back in April. Originally, she had considered it for the spring formal dance; however, it ended up being the perfect Homecoming dress. Her favorite detail is the straps, which add a delicate, stylish touch and make the dress stand out.

Isabella Prunes ‘29 received her dress from her grandmother, who bought it three weeks in advance from the Homecoming dress. It is difficult to spot in the photo, but her favorite detail of her dress was a lace design, which really made the maroon color stand out. In addition, the dark red color perfectly matched the theme of this year’s Homecoming theme, “Masquerade.”

Ashley Griggs ‘28 (left) also found her dress at Windsor, but she bought it back in August to give herself plenty of time to plan ahead. Her favorite part of the dress is the style, from the sleek navy color to the sequins, giving it the final polished look. She says it perfectly matches her fashion look and made her feel confident the whole night.
Rory Quinlan, ‘28 (middle), went a different direction, finding her Homecoming dress at Princess Polly, a brand known for its modern and elegant styles. She purchased the dress just two weeks before the dance, proving that even last-minute shopping can still lead to the perfect dress. Her favorite part of the dress is the light blue color and floral pattern, which was what encouraged her to buy the dress when she laid her eyes on it.
Madeline Clary, ‘28 (right), additionally bought her dress from Windsor. She ordered it in April as well as Anna Kate did, hoping for it to be an option for the spring formal dance. However, she was unfortunately unable to attend the spring formal dance and decided to keep her dress for Homecoming. It turned out to be just the perfect dress for her. Specifically, the lace design caught her eye, and the soft, pink color completed the look.
While each student had their own approach to finding the perfect dress, from early to last-minute shopping, they all shared the confidence that they felt while wearing their own unique dress. Whether it was the straps, color, or style, each dress told its story. This year’s Homecoming may be over, but the memories and photos of each student’s look are sure to stick around.
