This Fall, Flint Hill School’s Student Council Association (SCA) kicked off “Husky Nation,” a new initiative aimed at increasing school spirit and student attendance at games and events. The Huskies have shown outstanding support for our Fall athletic teams, leading to success on the field. At Flint Hill, the SCA has made an impactful effort to increase school spirit and encourage students to attend games, leading to a supportive Husky community. SCA President Naomi Jacobs ’26 said, “SCA has found ways to incentivize students to attend various Flint Hill events through gift cards and free dress days in our new program, ‘Husky Nation.’”
SCA has created a points system for students, where things like attending games, Senior nights, plays, and more earn points for each student, eventually leading to rewards such as gift cards and special privileges. There has also been an effort to create more “Spirit Days,” which entail dress themes based on an event or game happening at Flint Hill that week. SCA has worked with Dean of Students Mr. Jeremiah Shepherd to increase school spirit within the academic dress guidelines, earning support from the Flint Hill faculty. Senior goalkeeper Will Townsend ’26 on the Varsity Soccer team said, “Having hyped up fans on the sideline brings a lot of energy and fun to the games. It’s great to look over and see friends cheering.” This truly shows how important school spirit and student support are for our athletic teams. This new tradition sets a strong foundation for the younger grades to add on to in the future and makes Flint Hill the most spirited community it can be.
