On Friday, November 14, 2025, in the Flint Hill Upper School Gym, the students and faculty gathered to celebrate the athletes of this year’s fall season. Various coaches from the different sports our school provides presented their picks for MVP, most valuable player, and Husky Award, a recognition concerning athletic spirit.
As soon as everyone gathered, the events kicked off. The first person to take the stand was Coach Peterson for varsity football. He selected Ty Harris as the MVP for Varsity Football and Davis Parkes-Johnson for the Husky Award. Then Coach Denure took over and explained his picks for JV Football. His selections were Liam Strottman for MVP and Noah Durrant for the Husky Award.
Following up was Coach Borowski, the assistant director of athletics and US Head Varsity Boys’ Soccer Coach. Overall, he was happy with this season and his players’ performance, but couldn’t give an award to everyone on the team. The MVP of Boys Soccer Varsity, Philip Lopez, was awarded this accolade. And soon to follow was Coach Hartman, who was stepping in to award the JV group their awards. He awarded Lucas Kratovil the MVP award, while giving the Husky Award to Ian Byrd.
Next was Girls Soccer, where Jackie Beyers was awarded the MVP trophy alongside her teammate Julia Murphy, who earned the Husky Award. Continuing on, it was the Girls’ Field Hockey team’s turn to receive recognition. Firstly, for the Girls Field Hockey Varsity team, Kamila Uzzell was given the MVP award, with the Husky award going to Ellison Washburn. Then it was time for JV, the MVP winner was Darcy Brading-Duckworth, and shortly after, Maren Washburn was given the Husky Award.
Even after all these fun sports, a couple had yet to take the stage, Girls Tennis being one of them. Varsity Girls Tennis named Margaux DeVaul the team MVP, and JV named Lauren Riihimaki their most valuable player. Both girls’ tennis teams had an amazing season and had multiple influential players besides the MVP, some who earned the Husky Award. Catherine Luhn, earned the Husky Award in Girls Tennis JV and Lauren Bothwell, won the Husky Award in Girls Tennis Varsity.
Moving on to Golf, Varsity had a multitude of good options, but ultimately had to settle on just a few key players. Aarav Shah was selected for Varsity MVP, and Billy Lytton was selected for the Husky Award. However, for JV Golf the Husky Award went to Ben White and Ella Fitch.
Finally it was onto Volleyball, Varsity welcomed up MVP Hunter Ross to receive her award, along with Delaney Malloy for the Husky Award. As for JV, they decided to award the Husky Award to Bailey Hunstad.
Nearing the end of the ceremony the All League Awards were presented to our promising student athletes. Including Ty Harris, Rudi Ernst, Philip Lopez, Billy Lytton, Margaux DeVaul, and Jackie Beyers just to name a few. And to end off the ceremony, player of the year was awarded to Hunter Ross.
Congratulations to everyone who received awards at the Fall Athletic Award Ceremony.
We are excited to see where the winter athletic season takes our school and our athletes as this amazing school year continues. Go Huskies!
