As a snowy week ushers out January in favor of a (hopefully) warmer few weeks in February, the Major Minors are tirelessly at work perfecting pieces for their upcoming Winter Concert.
An opportunity to showcase months of hard work, the Major Minors have been working overtime to add finishing touches, rehearse solos, and perfect group dynamics in preparation for their Winter Concert at the Flint Hill Upper School on February 18th, 2026. The 23-person, award-winning acapella ensemble is planning on performing a selection of challenging, performance-ready group numbers, accompanied by upwards of ten solo performances by various artists in the group. Ranging from Freshmen to Seniors, this year holds a special diversity of singers ready to showcase their vocal talent.
After speaking to a group of singers preparing to perform this year, it’s clear how excited these Huskies are to celebrate their hard work in front of friends, family, and loved ones the night of the 18th. Deya Ghaderi ‘26 shared some of her feelings regarding the upcoming performance: “I am super thrilled to be performing these songs, and I feel that all of our hard work will have paid off. I’m super excited to showcase our talents, and I encourage everyone to show up!” Ghaderi is not alone in her excited anticipation of a sure-to-be spectacular night. Similarly, Julia Murphy ‘26 expressed her own feelings surrounding group and solo preparation: “The Major Minors Concert is such a pivotal moment of the year for me; it feels like such an accomplishment, a kind of peak we’ve been working towards. The whole event really brings us together as a group and gives us a special place to celebrate the group before taking a bigger stage at Arts Jam. It feels so special to be able to share our talents as a group and our talents individually. I really love it. As a Senior, this one is an extra special one for me because it encapsulated my four years in the group…all in all, I’m super excited! ”
As a Husky community, we are all looking forward to what the Major Minors are preparing next. In the meantime, look out for Open Mic to potentially get a sneak peek of some of this year’s concert repertoire.
